Coach Daniel - head Coach, Director of player development

Hello, I'm Coach Daniel, head coach and director of player development. 

 I began coaching at the age of 19 when I helped revive the baseball program at the middle school where I had played some of the best baseball of my life. Looking back, I wasn't the most naturally talented player, but I worked relentlessly to become the best player I could be. That mindset shaped who I am as both a coach and a person.

Our first season as a revived program was a difficult one—we finished with a 1-15 record. While the wins were few, the lessons were countless. That season taught me that coaching is about so much more than the scoreboard. I witnessed firsthand the impact a coach can have on young athletes, and that's when I realized my true passion wasn't just baseball—it was coaching.

Later in life, I coached my own kids in recreational soccer, a sport I knew almost nothing about. From coaching 3-year-olds all the way up to 9-year-olds, it became another unforgettable chapter that reinforced the value of patience, encouragement, and simply showing up for kids.

In 2012, I returned to the baseball diamond, coaching Little League from Coach Pitch through the Juniors division. Every season strengthened my belief that sports are one of the greatest tools we have for teaching life.

The Vancouver Ravens were created because I never want to see a young athlete's passion for the game fade away due to a lack of opportunity. I love baseball, but even more, I love the lessons it teaches—hard work, resilience, accountability, teamwork, and perseverance.

Helping young men and women grow into confident, respectful, and compassionate adults will always mean more to me than championships or tournament trophies. If I can help guide a player through life's challenges and remind them they have someone in their corner, then I've accomplished something far greater than winning a game.

My goal has always been simple: be a lighthouse for those lost ships, offering guidance, hope, and a safe harbor when they need it most.

Hi, I'm Melissa, the Director of Operations and  Marketing and Social Media content creator of Vancouver Ravens Baseball.

If someone had told me a few years ago that baseball would become one of the greatest passions of my life, I never would have believed them. But sometimes the best journeys begin when you simply believe in a group of kids and refuse to let their story end.

In June of 2022, Daniel and I were a couple, and his son Jack was playing Juniors Little League. When their season was cut short due to weather and there were no plans for a Juniors All-Star team, we couldn't accept that the season was over. These kids had already lost so much because of COVID, and we knew they deserved another opportunity to play the game they loved.

So, with a vision, a lot of determination, and plenty of late nights, we built the Vancouver Ravens from the ground up.

Together, Daniel and I created everything—the organization, the culture, and the Ravens brand that so many families proudly represent today. Four years later, seeing what this organization has become is one of the proudest accomplishments of my life.

When we started, I knew almost nothing about baseball. I learned by standing beside the field, watching Daniel coach, asking questions, and soaking up everything I could. Over time, the game became more than just baseball—it became a way to build confidence, teach resilience, create lifelong friendships, and give young athletes a place where they feel they belong.

Today, my greatest joy isn't just seeing our teams win games—it's watching kids grow into hardworking, respectful, and confident young adults. Every player who puts on a Ravens jersey becomes part of our family, and I genuinely care about each and every one of them.

The Vancouver Ravens has never been just about baseball. It's about community, opportunity, and giving kids a place to chase their dreams. I am incredibly grateful to every family, coach, volunteer, and player who has helped make this organization what it is today, and I'm excited to continue building something special for years to come.
